Beltane is May 1st. Beltane is also called May day or Lady's day. This is a celebration of mother earth's fertility after the long winter. Common symbols for beltane are the May pole,the bale fires, flowers, The Greenman, the earth's consort, the May Queen and King. Common customs for Beltane are to wash your face in the first dew of may, to ensure beauty and love in the coming year, Jumping the Bel-fire, maypole dances, the crowning of the May queen and King along with feasting and general festivities.
